3nd Interregional Scientific and Practical Conference “Preservation of Natural Heritage and Environmental Strategy of Industrial Enterprises”

29 October 2025 On October 23-24, the 3nd Interregional scientific and practical conference “Preservation of natural reserve heritage and environmental strategy of industrial enterprises” was held in Stavropol. The conference discussed issues of expanding interaction between industrial enterprises and executive authorities, public environmental organizations in the field of ecology and rational environmental management, management of specially protected natural areas; exchange of experience on issues of conservation of natural heritage, development of environmental education and educational tourism; organization of scientific research, support of environmental volunteer projects. I gave a report: "The role of specially protected natural areas in Stavropol region in the conservation of species of the genus Iris L." The study analyzes the occurrence of rare species of the Iridaceae in botanical reserves. The study addressed the need to monitor the status of populations and, in some cases, to designate protected areas, such as the establishment of a botanical reserve near the village of Velichaevskoye. Two species, Iris pseudacorus and Iris pseudonotha, are found in the lower reaches of the Kuma River, east of the town of Nevtekumsk.
