From May, 19 to May, 24 employees of the Botanical garden of the Botanical Institute (The Russian Academy of Sciences) visited the Botanical garden in Heteburg. We familiarized with live collections of the Botanical Garden accompanied by Mats Havstorm, curator of a collection of perennial plants. Some flora species of Turkey and Uzbekistan were studied for the first time, for example I. paradoxa, I. stolonifera, I. korolkowii etc. 4 new species were presented for the Iridarium collection. Herbarium material concerning the family of Iridaceae was studied in the Herbarium of the Botanical Garden, University of Heteburg – about 500 herbarium pages on the family Iridaceae: Crocus, Gladiolus, Iris were analyzed. Special attention was paid to studies of the genus Iris material collected by P. Wendelbo. During the tour more than 500 colour pictures were taken. At the meeting with Prof. Mari Kallersjo, the garden director, conclusions of joint international expedition “The Northern Caucasus -2011” were drawn, opportunities of new joint expeditions were discussed. Negotiations for specification of an itinerary of the international expedition to Abkhazia in 2014 were discussed with heads of Botanical gardens of Hamburg and Heteburg.
