On November, 15 the Botanical Institute employees – participants of Russian-Mongolian Comprehensive Biological Expedition were given Mongolian governmental awards in the Hall of the Academic Council Meetings at the Botanical Institute of the The Russian Academy of Sciences. The order "Polar Star" was awarded to Rudolf V. Kamelin, DrSc of Biological sciences, professor, and member of the Russian Academy of Sciences. In early 1980s he was a scientific advisor of botanical works in Mongolia. Being a person in charge of expeditionary groups Rudolf V. Kamelin spent 2-3 months in the field studying the content and structure of local flora. The works resulted in a series of personal and collective monographs. Now he is surely the best expert on Mongolian flora. A huge merit of Rudolf V. Kamelin is training of academic staff. All in all he supervised 20 DrSc and 40 PhD theses of graduates of 11 states including Mongolia.
Shagdaryn Tsoozh, DrSc of Biological sciences, vice-director of Botany Institute of the Mongolian Academy of Sciences solemnly granted Mongolian governmental awards to other employees of the Botanical Institute: Yu.V.Gamalei, Т.I.Kazantseva, N.N.Slemnev, V.Т.Yarmishko. We cordially congratulate our colleagues with receiving the deserved awards.
