India. Presentation of the tour.

Today at meeting of the Section for Introduction (Russian Botanical Society) at the Botanical garden N.B. Alexeeva, PhD in Biological Sciences made a presentation on the tour to India which took place in mountainous regions of the Western and Eastern Himalayas.

Our tour was to begin in late September – early October. We gathered a group of 4 people, the topic of our trip was to learn nature of various districts of the Himalayas. Special interest is attributed to a search of plants of Iridaceae family and to fishing. 3 of us flew from Moscow, 1 – from St. Petersburg, 1 of us was our guide in India. Our tour started on September, 23, when we took train from St. Petersburg to Moscow, transferred to the airport and took a plane. During a 6-hour flight we passed 4707 km, had lunch, watched movies, and drank 0.5 of whisky. We had to wait for Irina for 5 hours at Indira Ghanda airport. Local time differs from Moscow time in 1.5 hour. We came across a lot of beautiful exotic people of different faiths.
