The book about irises, gladioluses, crocuses and other decorative perennials of one of collections – the Iridarium which was created in 1963 by G.I.Rodionenko - was published to the 300th anniversary of the Botanical garden. The Iris Garden is both the center of scientific research and place for rest of many visitors of the garden. It is annually visited by up to 70000 visitors in the period of blossoming of irises.

The book provides information on species as well as garden groups (Bearded Irises, Siberian Irises, Spuria Irises, Japanese Irises and Irises for Water Garden) tested in the collection. You will also have an opportunity to familiarize with a variety of bulbous and bulbotuber plants in close relation with the genus of Iris. The book tells about breeding rare species and their protection. The text of the book is accompanied by colourful photos.
